The European Retirement Week (ERW), held annually during the last week of November, provides a platform for stakeholders to discuss the future of pensions in European citizens’ awareness of the need to save for retirement and achieve pension adequacy. This year, the ERW will kick off on 25 November 2024.

As part of the ERW, PensionsEurope is hosting a webinar on 26 November 2024, titled “Future-Proofing Retirement in Europe: The Need for More Funded Pensions. The webinar will explore Europe’s main retirement challenges, such as demographic changes, falling replacement rates, and growing fiscal pressures on governments. The webinar will explore solutions at both the European and national levels. It will highlight the crucial role funded pensions must play in ensuring adequate and sustainable retirement outcomes.

The event will feature contributions from various European countries, the European Commission, the OECD, and academia. It will include a series of short video clips and a live panel discussion to delve deeper into the issues raised in the videos.
