In parallel to the General Assembly, the European Commission presented its proposals to amend the IORP II Directive, the PEPP Regulation and the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR), as well as its recommendations on pension tracking systems, pension dashboards and automatic enrolment. According to its press release, with these measures, the Commission aims “to help citizens secure adequate income in retirement by improving access to better and more effective supplementary pensions.”
Klaus Stiefermann comments:
“The Pension Package shows that the cooperation between national associations and PensionsEurope is more important than ever. In the coming weeks, we will carefully examine whether the proposals are suitable to meet the European Commission’s objective.”
He adds:
“Together with Carolina and Ann, I look forward to working with CEO Matti Leppälä and his team, as well as with all members of PensionsEurope. Together, we will advocate for more funded pensions vis-à-vis the EU institutions and in the Member States”.
